FOREVER CROONING IN THE HEAVENS
REGINALD "PROPHET" HAYNES
MARCH 24, 1949 - JULY 11, 2020
On Saturday, July 11, 2020 Reginald Haynes quietly and peacefully left to be with the Lord. He was home with his family, in East Orange, NJ.
He was born in Washington, DC to Sylvia and Robert Haynes and was the oldest of three siblings. Growing up, he loved to meet his buddies and sing on street corners long into the night. Little did he know then, the amazing super star he
would become.
In 1973, Reginald and the singing group made history. The Escorts recorded an entire album in less than 24 hours while behind the walls of Rahway State Prison. The record industry and public were thrilled by the sound of this exciting unheard of group.
All We Need Is Another Chance hit the market, and even today, some 47 years later, people still love it.
In 1986, Reginald met LaGrant Harris and Bill Martin, who formed The Legendary Escorts known today throughout the country and world for their new hits and soulful voices. Reggie was a beacon of light for many behind prison walls who had given up hope. His success despite his failures sent a message that your past does not dictate your future and if you never give up, with God, you can do anything.
